TN-ZERO is a Crime Task Force designed to bring awareness to current criminal activity in the Rutherford County area via education and intervention. This task force was designed to effectively develop a stronger working relationship and better line of communication by networking between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and the citizens of Rutherford County, Tennessee. The outcome of all work done has drawn positive local and national media attention. TN-ZERO has developed educational symposiums, utilizing the talents of a variety of representatives from different law enforcement agencies, to address current criminal activities that concerned citizens have requested information about. These symposiums provide training on how to better recognize elements of crimes and the proper, safest way to notify the authorities so that law enforcement can effectively handle the situation.
TN-ZERO also provides free training to area law enforcement, to help keep them current on new changes in laws, the proper collection of evidence, and the latest criminal activities. The relationships built by TN-ZERO have also made it better for citizens to come forth without the fear of retaliation.
TN-ZERO has and will continue to offer educational outreach events to area youth. From the positive effects of our task force, we feel that TN-ZERO can be a state-wide task force, with chapters in each county of the state of Tennessee. TN-ZERO is currently being observed by other states as a template for ways to effectively combat a new age of crime and develop better community relations.
TN-ZERO will bring awareness to a wide range of crimes, but we cannot fight this battle alone.
We need the help and support of everyone to make our State known for Zero Tolerance for crime.
